🎓 3 Marketing Examples

Walnut:

Why does this ad work?

  • Gets to the benefit straight away: Don't let MQLs slip away—captivate their interest with embedded demos

  • Communicates the message in a fun and engaging way with memorable imagery.

Interactive Landing Pages:

Make your landing pages interactive with quizzes, sliders, buttons and calculators. Here are some examples:

Signal:

In 2021, Signal ran some Instagram Ads that showed how much personal data Meta collected about their users.

Meta ended up banning them.

They followed up with a blog post.

By creating an enemy, they created a story and a why:

  • Why they exist

  • Why they’re better

  • Why you should choose them

🚀 1 Growth Strategy

Ever wanted to see who your competitor’s customers are?

You can do it by using a technique called “Google Dorking”.

How does it work?

Due to regulations like GDPR, companies often disclose their B2B vendors in privacy policy documents. This legal transparency now also becomes a tool for competitive analysis.

Why do it?

If you are an Intercom competitor, there’s a chance that many Intercom customers mention that they are using Intercom in their privacy policy.

This way you can ethically create a list of potential prospects that you can contact via cold email or LinkedIn.

How to do it?

Utilize Google searches to locate mentions of competitors within other companies’ privacy policies, excluding the competitor’s own site.

Here are tailored Google Dorking queries you can start with. You can copy & paste each of these to Google and fill in the placeholders:

  • intext:"[competitor name]" intext:"services we use" -site:[competitor website]

  • intext:"[competitor name]" intext:"share your information with" -site:[competitor website]

  • "privacy policy" intext:"we use [competitor name]" -site:[competitor website]

  • intext:"[competitor name]" filetype:pdf -site:[competitor website]

  • intext:"[competitor name]" “third party”+“service" inurl:"privacy" -site:[competitor website]

  • "personal data processed" [competitor name] -site:[competitor website]

  • “[competitor name] experience required” -site:[competitor website]

Want to take it a step further?

You can use custom data-scraping bots to pull all the search results for you in one go.

You can use a tool like Clay or Apify for this. You can also follow this guide to do it with code.

You can set these data scrapers to update regularly so you always have a list of competitor’s customers.
