Thanks for reading. Let’s jump in!
🚀 “Do-able'“ Programmatic SEO That Boosts Signups
Programmatic SEO is all about creating many structurally similar pages at scale to target a large set of related keywords.
Think "vegan restaurants in [city]" or "weather in [location]". Let’s learn from some industry greats:
1) Target long tail keywords (SEO) & show your product
You’ve likely come across Canva’s extensive gallery of over 1000 templates. Their clever strategy covers long tail keywords relating to design templates from infographics to resume templates. It’s estimated to bring in $491k worth of monthly traffic!
Look at this sample URL structure: https://www.canva.com/infographics/templates/technology/
See how Canva splits out ‘design templates’ into different formats (e.g. infographic) and use cases or industries (e.g. technology). These permutations are rich opportunities to target long tail keywords: e.g. ‘infographic template for technology’.
To increase signups, Canva embeds its sign up form with a preview. Notice the strong CTA to ‘edit this template’ ie try the product.
Takeaway ➡️ Cover the field of long tail keywords and visually give a taste of your product.
2) Get lead magnet opportunities with long tail keywords
Similarly, Invoice Simple (invoicing software) has dedicated pages targeting variations of ‘invoice template’ keywords.
It provides free downloadable invoice templates as lead magnets. These SEO acquisition pages increase signup opportunities.
Takeaway ➡️ Use long tail keywords for lead magnet opportunities.
⭐️ Easiest Way To Do Programmatic SEO
This strategy lends best to a product/service that fits many variations (use cases, locations, etc). Start with 10 variations to test the waters before scaling up.
Step 1: Identify Your Keyword Pattern
Make a list of long tail keywords relating to your product. Variations of keywords are based on different use cases, file formats, features, locations, etc - e.g. ‘freelance invoice template’, ‘word resume template’, ‘illustrated infographic’.
Serpstat has a nifty ‘related keywords’ feature to find similar keywords. Try it for free here.
Step 2: Create The Perfect Landing Page Template
Build a base page with key sections: main content, visuals, FAQs and add clear signup call-to-action (CTA) buttons.
Step 3: Create Dedicated ‘SEO Acquisition Pages’.
Adapt your template and use AI tools to produce draft pages based on keyword variations. Always review and enhance.
